Donors fund meals ahead of time. A neighbor who needs one reserves it free and picks it up at a local restaurant partner, which is reimbursed for every meal it serves. Nobody shows ID or proves need.
A coffee shop's pay-it-forward board, grown into a program
The idea started with the pay-it-forward board at Beanchain Coffee in Mesa, Arizona. Pay It Forward, a program of the Foundation for Innovation in Society, is taking it to restaurants across the greater Phoenix area, and it's built to work anywhere in the US.
Restaurant meals for people without a phone
Shelters and outreach teams reserve a meal for someone in front of them and print a slip with the meal code, or set up a tablet in their lobby where people reserve one themselves, without an account.
